In 1785 John Veech, an Irishman, landed at the Falls of the Ohio with his small family. His occupation as a surveyor of land holdings led him to the opportunity to purchase the almost 500 acres that was named Indian Hill, after many new immigrants encounters with local Indian tribes. The land Veech and multiple generations of his family would later live on, was eventually used as a potato farm. The produce being featured at many a Louisville market. By 1924 the 500 acres of the Indian Hill farm were divided. Approximately 300 to subdivision and 200 to the Louisville Country Club. Each of these developments would be consulted by Frederick Law Olmstead, the “Father of Modern Landscaping”. By 1999, the city of Indian Hills was established. By combining four neighboring smaller cities, the neighborhood we know today was formed. Indian Hills features Georgian and Victorian architecture and has been called on of the most successful neighborhoods in the Louisville area.

I can honestly not say enough good things about Martin Crane.
